Penguins skate the Cup...

It gave me such pleasure to watch the Penguins defeat the Red Wings. I should feel bad for Hossa, but that was a decision he made and it will haunt him until he finally gets his cup. It was the close kind of game that you want to have for a game seven and it was clear from the start that the Penguins were on a mission.

Congratulations to Wade Colborne's Ottawa Titans for claiming the SSFHL Cup for the 2009 Playoffs!

$50 dollars goes to the Titans for their win.

The Ottawa Titans were able to hold off the Syracuse Muddogs to claim their first Cup by a score of 40 to 36. The Titans had MVP Evgeni Malkin lead them through the playoffs with the commitment and skill he was lacking in last years playoffs.

Another congratulation goes out to Martin Masse's Syracuse Muddogs for their commanding win of the Regular Season Championship, as well as the Overall Points Champion!

The Syracuse Muddogs jumped into the lead early in the season and never looked back, claiming their first regular season championship. The Muddogs built one of the most balanced teams in recent memory with 10 players over the 100 point mark for the season.

$125 dollars goes to the Muddogs for their win.

Both teams won their conference, so it was fate that they should face off in the cup finals!

The countdown for the upcoming season will begin soon and draft information will be coming sometime in July.

Thank you all for your participation and I look forward to seeing you on the ice next season!

Scott

I told you all about the possibility of a "legends league" who's idea was brought forward by our friends at the Local Puck Hog 242. They have invited us to chat with them on their message boards, so just tell them you are with the SSFHL and they will be more than glad to sign you up!

A Word from the Commish

In case you have not noticed, our pages are loading faster this season. We have upgraded to XML and have also added the ability to sort the tables using the header columns in most cases. We hope this helps you get better data from our site. We also added a search feature on our free agent page ....if you get no results, either he is not a free agent or you spelled his name wrong.

We are always looking for ways to make the site more user friendly for you, so if there is something you would like to see, don't hesitate to drop us an email and let us know!
